Phase II: Weight Loss Transition
Congratulations! You have reached your goal weight and are ready to transition out of the Acute Weight Loss Phase. This phase will last 2 to 4 weeks depending on your medication dosage. During this time, we will provide additional learning materials as we instruct patients on further lifestyle changes. Diets will be adjusted as calorie consumption is increased to meet one’s current nutritional needs for a healthy long-term weight. Additional behavioral modification is practiced. An age, ability, and interest-appropriate exercise prescription is co-signed by physician and patient. Off-site exercise therapists are available to assist with training and support. Medications will be tapered off and then patients will be ready for the Long-term Maintenance Phase at Jumpstart Medicine.
Transition Phase weekly visit:
- Consultation
- Measurement of weight, blood pressure, heart rate
- Body composition analysis
- Weekly injection
- Medication as necessary
- Physician consultation as necessary.
